RAIDEN: Tokyo-Based International Hard Rock Band Releases Debut EP

November 6, 2006

Tokyo-based international hard rock band RAIDEN, which is led by Australian vocalist 9-0 and also features the U.K.'s Nigel Hanna and three Japanese members, has released its debut EP, "Raimei" (Sound of Thunder) via JMS (Japan Music System) to over 200 record stores across Japan, including HMV, Tower Records and Disc Union. For international fans, the EP is also available directly from the RAIDENweb site.

RAIDEN was formed in 2003 by 9-0. He was soon joined by Nigel Hanna on lead guitar, and Japan's Hide Daita on lead guitar, Takayuki "Tommy" Kurihara on drums and Keita Soeda on bass.

2006 has been the busiest year for RAIDEN since their formation. As well as recording the debut EP, "Raimei", at Yokohama's Mountain Studios with acclaimed Japanese producer and engineer Akira Katoh, they played a number of shows in Tokyo, including Asia's largest international art event Design Festa in May in front of over 50,000 people and to a crowd of many thousands at the Yokota U.S. base Friendship Festival west of Tokyo that saw over 200,000 turn out over two days.

Upcoming RAIDEN shows:

Dec. 03 - Design Festa, Tokyo Big Site, Odaiba
Dec. 09 - The Fiddler, Takadanobaba, Tokyo
Dec. 31 - Outbreak, Yotsuya, Tokyo (with DJIZOES)
